8 Minute Games with immediate turn around

1st named team to provide match balls

8 players per squad allowed, 6 players on pitch at any one time, age rules apply to the 2007/2008 season just completed – SORRY BUT WE CANNOT DEVIATE FROM THESE TEAM NUMBERS!!

3 points for a win, 2 points for a score draw, 1 point for a no score draw

Depending on group numbers the top two in each group qualify for knock-out stage. Tournament organisers have the right to reorganise qualifying due to late cancellations of teams.

If equal on points, better goal difference applies, if the same then the team with higher number of goals scored will go through, if still equal penalties apply.

Penalty shoot out: 5 players from each team to take one penalty each, only players on the pitch at the end of the game can take penalties, if scores are equal penalties will be taken with the 6th remaining player on the field on a sudden death basis and continue with the first five players in order until there is a winner

The semi final and final will attract 4 minutes of extra time [2 mins each way] should scores be level and if still level at extra time a penalty shoot out will decide the match

Teams must ensure kit complies with the rules of the game and shin guards must be worn – no shin guards means no play, sorry!

In the event of kits clashing it is the first named teams responsibility to change shirt or wear bibs

All teams must have a first aid kit, although St Johns Ambulance will attend.

The referees decision is final and in the event of any post match dispute the referee and tournament organiser decision is final

Throw-in, corners, goal kicks from the touch line – there are no off-sides

Players allowed in goal area, keepers allowed out, pass back to keeper cannot be picked up for all age groups

Rolling Subs REF TO BE MADE AWARE & ONLY WHEN BALL IS OUT OF PLAY

Ref can award a penalty if, in their opinion, a goal bound attempt is stopped by an infringement of the rules IE the keeper is out of the area and handles the ball.

Ball is allowed above head height

All free kicks are direct

A Player who receives a straight red card will not be allowed to participate further in the competition. A Player receiving two yellow cards will miss his/her team’s next match. A third yellow will mean suspension from the remainder of the competition.

Failure of a side to be ready for kick off within two minutes of kick off time may result in the offending team forfeiting the match with the opposing side being awarded 3 points for a 1-0 win.

Scratch teams are eligible in the event of teams not turning up as scheduled

THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO AMEND ANY OF THE RULES OR MAKE A DECISION ON ANY POINT THAT CANNOT BE RESOLVED BY REFERENCE TO A PARTICULAR RULE. IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES THE COMMETTEES DECISION IS FINAL.
